[yellow tail] is one of the top-selling wine brands in the world. When these critiques come through, we're usually expecting to… well… critique them. Every now and then, though, we have to lay down the magnifying glass and give props!

The Consistency

[yellow tail] has done a great job at package consistency - we can point their bottles out from across the grocery store - they’re bright and recognizable and even though their prices are very affordable, they have not skimped on packaging features that give a premium feel. SURE it’s a screw-cap, but look… if you’ve ever showed up to a dinner party with a bottle of wine that turned out to be corked, you know the value of the screw cap. While it’s easy to slap a stock cap on a bottle and call it a bargain, [yellow tail] has gone the extra mile to emboss and color match the tops of the caps to the brand label on the bottle body. This is… not easy. Almost certainly they are different suppliers so, to the color tech out there making this happen: we tip our hats to you! Y’all are rare, wonderful birds.

The Dieline

We also have to say - great job choosing a label dieline that’s visually interesting but not so much so as to cause issues on the application line. Again - so easy to just go with a rectangle for everything, but WHY? The juxtaposition between the hard lines of the top label and the organic ones of the bottom label is very nice.

Honestly, just a great job all around. We love to see a brand apply good design to accessible products. Not everything that looks amazing needs to cost an arm and a leg!
